Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.
And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan, and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah, and all these were the descendants of Keturah.
Abraham gave everything he had to Isaac.
But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had, and while he was still living he sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the land of the east.
This is the sum of all the years of Abraham's life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years.
Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a ripe old age, an old man full of years and satisfied, and was gathered to his people.
His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, east of Mamre.
The field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth, where Abraham was buried with Sarah his wife.
And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac, and Isaac settled at Beer Lahai Roi.
Now this is the account of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's maidservant, bore to Abraham.
These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
These were the sons of Ishmael and these were their names, by their towns and their encampments, twelve tribal leaders according to their nations.
These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he took his last breath and died, and was gathered to his people.
They settled from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt in the direction of Assyria, and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
This is the account of Isaac, Abraham's son, whom Abraham fathered.
Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean.
Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren, and the LORD answered his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
But the children struggled together within her womb, and she said, "If it is so, why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD.
And the LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, two peoples shall be divided from your body; one people shall be stronger than the other, and the older shall serve the younger."
So when the time came to give birth, there were indeed twins in her womb.
And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment, so they named him Esau.
Afterward his brother came out with his hand grasping Esau's heel, so his name was called Jacob, and Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
So the boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, but Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents.
Isaac loved Esau because he had a taste for his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
Once when Jacob was cooking a stew, Esau came in from the field and he was exhausted.
And Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am exhausted." Therefore his name was called Edom.
But Jacob said, "First sell me your birthright as of this day."
And Esau said, "Look, I am about to die; so what good is this birthright to me?"
Then Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.
And Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank, got up, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
