ἐξαρτίζω
Exartizo
Verb
To finish completely, fully equip, furnish thoroughly

Definition

The Greek verb exartizo (ἐξαρτίζω) means to finish completely or to furnish thoroughly. The ex- intensifies artizo (to complete/fit) — this is thorough, total equipping with nothing lacking. It appears twice in the New Testament.

Usage & Theological Significance

In 2 Timothy 3:17, the goal of Scripture is stated as exartizo: "that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." The goal of Scripture is not information accumulation but complete equipping for active discipleship. In Acts 21:5, the same word describes the completion of days, carrying the sense of something being brought to its proper conclusion.
