Μεταβιβαζω
Metabibazō
Verb
To Cause to Pass Over / To Transfer

Definition

From meta (change) and bibazō (to cause to go). To cause something to pass from one person or place to another, to transfer authority or possession.

Usage & Theological Significance

This word connects to the great biblical theme of covenant transfer — God transferring His blessing from one generation to the next, from the old covenant to the new. The kingdom was transferred from Saul to David, from Israel to the church. Jesus told the Jewish leaders: 'The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit' (Matthew 21:43).
