Περισσοτερον
Perissoteron
Adverb (Comparative)
More Abundantly / Exceedingly

Definition

Comparative form of perissos (exceeding). More abundantly, to a greater degree, exceedingly. Paul used this word to describe his labor and his love for the Corinthians.

Usage & Theological Significance

Paul declared: 'I worked harder than all of them — yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me' (1 Corinthians 15:10). He loved the Corinthians 'more abundantly' (2 Corinthians 12:15). The superlative in Paul's life was always grace-driven. Grace produces more abundant effort, not less.
