דָּקַק
daqaq
Verb
to crush, pulverize, beat small

Definition

To crush to fine pieces, to pulverize, to grind. Used of physical crushing (grinding grain) and metaphorical crushing (judgment on enemies, breaking idols). Represents thorough, complete destruction.

Usage & Theological Significance

Daqaq appears in key prophetic visions of God's ultimate triumph. In Daniel 2:34–35, the stone 'not cut by human hands' crushes the great statue representing world empires. In Isaiah 28:28, grain is crushed but not endlessly — God knows when enough discipline has been applied. This word teaches that God's judgments are thorough but purposeful, and His sovereignty reduces human pride to dust.
