H2724 Β· Hebrew Β· Old Testament
Χ—ΦΈΧ¨ΦΈΧ‘ΦΈΧ”
charabah
Noun, Feminine
Dry land, dry ground

Definition

From H2717 (charab). Dry land as opposed to water β€” especially the miraculous dry ground when God parted the waters.

Usage & Theological Significance

Charabah is the word of miraculous deliverance. Israel crosses the Red Sea on dry ground (Exodus 14:21). They cross the Jordan on dry ground (Joshua 3:17). This connects creation (God separating waters from dry land) with redemption (God making a way through waters). Every time God makes dry ground appear, He is re-creating the world for His people.
