Usage & Theological Significance

Joshua 22:8: 'Return to your homes with your great wealth — with large herds of livestock, with silver, gold, bronze and iron, and a great quantity of clothing. Divide the plunder with your fellow Israelites.' After conquering the land, the eastern tribes are sent home with spoils. Wealth is presented as God's blessing to be shared, not hoarded.
