Closer to home

I guess I've decided to do the “C" thing again. What can I say: Adam absolutely adores alliterations…

I've got some controversy I'd like to write about soon, but I'm kind of working through that in my mind and in my heart before I share it out here in cyber-space. The teaser is that I'm on a quest to find all the “patterns of this world" I am “not to be conformed to." Romans 12:2. Oh yeah, it's gonna be good- stand by!

In the mean time here's some photo's of today's flying; we started in New Mexico and are now in Arkansas, and I seriously feel for anyone who has made the 700+ mile drive across my home state. Painful is simply too limited of a word to describe it – even flying!

I sent this one to Pastor Todd because he is a big Dallas Cowboys fan.

and this one I sent to Gannon and Carey who just moved to VA from Dallas

And this is what I really needed for the last leg from just south of Lake Texoma to Little Rock – sent it to Maria and Laura with a MegaMind reference – remember the super villain's suit: The Black Mamba?

So we hope to make it home by tomorrow afternoon, and I'm sure I'll hit the ground running next week (if not the weekend) but of course I'm looking forward to seeing my wife and two little warriors! Its been a long time! But even just one day away is to long for a father to be gone…

May we fathers work to be present even when forced to be absent, and never choose to be absent when we can be present – always desiring to be closer to home. That reminds me of Paul's words in Romans 1:11 and Colossians 2:5 — Ah, good meditation for the night!

Peace.
Adam

PS: I got to watch the sun set for probably the 7th time in the last 10 days as we landed in Little Rock. I call a sun set “God's gift for a day well done," and the sun rise “God's promise of a good day ahead" and I got to watch that the last 2 mornings too… Here's a photo of the one we saw in Tucson the night before last:
