“Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13 KJV
I've liked this verse for a while. “Quit you like men" was a magazine publication my mom put on my desk once when I came home from college. I wondered what it meant, so I looked it up. You gotta love old King James words that make you go digging.
It basically means “play the man" or “act like a man," and frankly, we men don't have many examples to look to these days for what a man is suppose to act like.
But there are some out there, if we look, and I want to be one for others to see… So here's the MSF idea, and it stands for Men Stand Fast, which will be the label of those of us who decide to stay in place (stand fast in military speak means stay put, don't go anywhere) after meetings such as FOD walk or AOM's in my squadron and after everyone else leaves, one person says a prayer for those there as well as for those who walk away. I think the idea has solid footing on this verse (pun intended – as they usually are with me)
Hopefully in a few months, there will be se great stories to share about this!
Peace,
Adam
