I posted on social media that I'm finally doing a retirement ceremony for my 20+ year career that ended a little over a year ago… due to the transition and leaving Okinawa to settle in Virginia, I put this off but my family deserves to be celebrated for all they did over the past 20+ years — especially my wife!
So… On April 2nd at the Alamo, I'll finally honor the sacrifice made by my family while I was off doing fun stuff around the world (though sometimes it didn't feel very fun, I've mostly forgot about those times! ha!)
Anyhow; I'll include the FB event link so you can go there and click “interested" or “going" but no worries if you just show up. I'll talk about the top 10 reasons it took so long to finally do a ceremony (most retirees do it before their official last day) and I'll also mention why we chose the Alamo for the ceremony, so if you want to hear that; be there – or at least go to the FB event page and maybe it'll be live-streamed, but at least we'll upload some photos and video. We'll also have a reception at Crockett Tavern around the corner where we'll show video and slideshows of the past 20 years and have a great time of fellowship with food! Hope to see many of my family and friends there!
