Well I'm back after a long hiatus from blogging, which started as just a 1 month period of media silence to begin a quest to pursue humility back in May – obviously my silence continued a little longer than planned — it's a life long quest! I do need to write some of what I feel like God revealed to me about my own pride, but I'll get to that eventually – if my pride will allow it…
First, I wanted to share something else which I feel like God is teaching me in regards to some very difficult situations that I won't elaborate on at all except to say… the situations are difficult.
Below is what I typed up on my note pad of my iPhone while waiting to see the dentist:
God is Love (1 John 4:8)
Jesus is Truth (John 14:6)
Jesus is God (John 10:30)
Please permit me to draw a conclusion using a basic law of logic (those laws being created by God, of course) — Since A=B & B=C : A=C –>
Love IS Truth. Truth IS Love.
We are commanded to speak truth in love, but its impossible to speak one without the other! I've heard it said that truth spoken without love ceases to be truth and love given without truth ceases to be love, but I submit to you that True Truth and Real Love are joined together by God, and what God has joined, man is commanded not to separate. Therefore truth doesn't CEASE to be true and love doesn't CEASE to be loving – because you can't stop being something you never were! Neither truth or love can begin without the other.
Let me break it down a little bit further: if a person were to speak something they think is true to someone without any love in their heart, I believe, based on Scripture that they have allowed sin to taint the truth they were trying to share. And any attempt made to give love which is absent of truth, I believe, is one of the most unloving acts a person could commit.
Let us pray that we speak true love and love truly, and forget this ridiculous notion that one can be done without the other! We cannot change the laws of logic any more than we can change the laws of science. And God's laws are above all. He has written, spoken, and revealed them to anyone who desires to have eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts to respond! If you're a Christian, you have received the Truth of God and the Love of God – freely you have received, freely give – both, together, as they have been given to you!
PS: I didn't plan on saying anything about sex on this post, but I found this image, and these three words really stand to exemplify what true love is all about. And once again God demonstrates this perfectly: “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.“
