Jer 20:9: “Then I said, ‘I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.' But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not." NKJV
Jer 23: 29: “Does not my word burn like fire?" says the LORD. “Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces?" NLT
Another thought I've had while waiting to send out thoughts, and contemplating God's wonders is this: Is what I'm attempting to do sustainable? Think of a locomotive and what it takes to get that big guy rolling? If you've seen the movie “Unstoppable" you can appreciate just how much momentum is produced from a continual burning fire fueling the engines!
I've seen bloggers and “on fire" believers almost literally “burn out." However, as I've told many, that when the fire that has set us ablaze IS the Word of God: shut up in our bones like it was with Jeremiah, then we, like the burning bush, cannot and will not burn out. However, if we're keeping ourself burning with our own efforts and selfish ambition as a motive, it's just a matter of time before that flame is extinguished.
