Covenant Life Church at 7501 Muncaster Mill Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Founded 1977. Originally the flagship church of Sovereign Grace Ministries (C.J. Mahaney). The church left SGM in 2014 amid controversy over Mahaney's handling of abuse allegations and authoritarian leadership. Now SBC affiliated. The SGM history is significant — evaluate whether the church has genuinely reformed its culture, governance, and accountability structures since leaving SGM. Current pastoral leadership should be verified.
