Assessment
Truro Anglican Church is one of the great orthodox Anglican congregations in Northern Virginia. Founded 1843, it has a rich history including connection to national leaders (George Mason was a parishioner of the historic Truro parish). After departing The Episcopal Church over homosexuality and female ordination, Truro joined ACNA and has continued its legacy of faithful biblical Anglicanism. Rector Jamie Brown (since 2022) brings Reformed theological training from RTS combined with Anglican liturgical practice. The Lamb Center (founded 1992 by Truro) demonstrates a long legacy of gospel-motivated community service. Three Sunday services, including an early service — a sign of serious congregational life. For a man wanting orthodox Anglican liturgy, doctrinal clarity, and a congregation with institutional courage, Truro Anglican is excellent.
