UCC fully egalitarian at every level; LGBTQ+ clergy affirmed since 1972

Stated mission language is 'together, we grow a just and peaceful world' — social-justice framing replaces Great-Commission language; aligns with UCC national identity.
Caution
Cultural Alignment
DEI/CRT language? Social justice crowding out gospel?
Homepage describes itself as 'a church of extravagant welcome' that 'welcomes and accepts everyone as they are' and aims to 'encourage tolerance, promote social justice' — affirming/progressive UCC posture confirmed on landing page.

Assessment
The United Church of Christ of Fredericksburg belongs to the most progressive mainline denomination in American Protestantism. The UCC was the first denomination to ordain an openly gay minister (1972) and the first to affirm same-sex marriage (2005). The denomination's 'God is still speaking' campaign and social justice emphasis define its institutional identity. While individual UCC congregations can theoretically be more conservative, the denominational DNA is thoroughly progressive. Rev. Darryl Moch leads. Not recommended for anyone committed to biblical authority and historic orthodoxy.
