διασαφέω
Diasapheo
Verb
Explain Clearly / Make Plain / Declare

Definition

The Greek verb diasapheo means to make clear, explain thoroughly, or declare with clarity. From saphos (clear, plain), the dia prefix intensifies the thoroughness of the explanation.

Usage & Theological Significance

When the disciples came to Jesus asking for an explanation of the Parable of the Weeds (Matthew 13:36), they requested that he diasapheo — make it thoroughly plain. This captures the discipling relationship: the crowd receives parables, but disciples receive clear explanation. Jesus is both the speaker of mysteries and the revealer of their meaning. Access to the King means access to explanation.
