Definition

From megaleios (magnificent). Denotes magnificence, grandeur, or divine mighty power. Used of the magnificent greatness of God that evokes awe and worship.

Usage & Theological Significance

At Pentecost, the crowd heard the disciples declaring 'the mighty deeds of God' in various languages (Acts 2:11). Peter testified to seeing Christ's majesty at the transfiguration (2 Peter 1:16).
