apothlibo
Apothlibo
Verb
To press hard / Crowd against / Crush

Definition

A verb meaning 'to press hard against' or 'to crowd.' Used in Luke 8:45 where the multitude press against Jesus -- yet only one woman's faith-touch draws healing power from Him.

Usage & Theological Significance

Amid the crowd pressing against Jesus physically, one woman touches Him in faith and healing flows. Many crowd Christ without encountering Him; one reaches in desperate faith and is transformed. Physical or cultural proximity to Jesus is not the same as faith-contact. 'Your faith has made you well' (Luke 8:48).
