naim
Adjective
Pleasant, lovely, delightful, sweet, beautiful

Definition

From H5276 (naem, 'to be pleasant/lovely'). Naim describes what is agreeable, pleasurable, beautiful, and delightful β€” applied to words, music, friendship, oil, worship, and dwelling together in unity.

Usage & Theological Significance

Psalm 133 opens with one of Scripture's most celebrated declarations: 'Behold, how good and how naim it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!' The naim of Christian fellowship is likened to the precious anointing oil running down Aaron's beard and the dew of Hermon. This is no mere pleasantness β€” it is the fragrance of the Holy Spirit's work in binding hearts together. David calls the divine testimonies 'naim' (Ps. 135:3), worship 'naim' (Ps. 147:1). The very character of God is good and pleasant. The Psalms repeatedly call God's people to taste and see that He is naim.
