Χ’ΦΈΧ“ΦΈΧ”
adah
Verb
To adorn, deck oneself, put on ornaments

Definition

A primitive root meaning to adorn or put on ornaments. Used literally of wearing jewelry and figuratively of God adorning Jerusalem.

Usage & Theological Significance

Adah carries deeply relational theology. In Ezekiel 16:11-13, God adorned orphaned Jerusalem with bracelets, chains, and a crown β€” the language of covenant love. The tragedy: Israel used these adornments to attract other lovers (Hosea 2:13). Yet the promise remains: God will adorn His people again (Isaiah 61:10).
