Tsaphan
Verb
Hide; store up; treasure; reserve

Definition

Moses was hidden (tsaphan) by his mother for three months (Exodus 2:2) — an act of love that preserved the deliverer of Israel. Job 14:13 longs for God to hide him in Sheol until His wrath passes. Proverbs 2:7 says God "stores up" sound wisdom for the upright. Theologically, tsaphan reveals that God is a God who reserves and protects what is precious — His people, His wisdom, His judgment.

Usage & Theological Significance

Tsaphan means to hide away, to store or treasure up carefully — whether for protection or for a future time. It speaks of deliberate concealment with purpose: treasure reserved, a child hidden from danger, or divine judgment stored up.
