Μεγαλοπρεπεια
Megaloprepeia
Noun, Feminine
Magnificence / Grandeur

Definition

From megaloprepes (magnificent). Magnificence, grandeur, befitting greatness. The abstract quality of being worthy of great honor.

Usage & Theological Significance

The magnificence of God is not self-aggrandizement but the natural radiance of perfect being. When God displays His glory, He is not showing off — He is simply being Himself. God's magnificence is the standard against which all things are measured. The heavens declare it (Psalm 19:1), creation testifies to it (Romans 1:20), and believers will behold it face to face (1 John 3:2).
