Περιμενω
Perimenō
Verb
To Wait For / To Await

Definition

From peri (around, indicating completeness) and menō (to remain). To wait for with expectation, to await patiently. Jesus commanded the disciples to wait for the promise of the Father.

Usage & Theological Significance

Jesus' final pre-ascension command was to wait for the gift the Father had promised (Acts 1:4). Before the disciples could be sent out, they had to wait. Before power, patience. Before service, surrender. God's timing requires waiting, and waiting is not wasted time — it is preparation time.
