tushiyyah
Noun, Feminine
Sound wisdom, effective counsel, abiding success

Definition

From an unused root meaning to be firm. Denotes practical, effective wisdom โ€” not merely theoretical knowledge but the kind of insight that produces lasting results.

Usage & Theological Significance

Tushiyyah appears almost exclusively in Job and Proverbs. It represents something deeper than cleverness: substantial, enduring wisdom that comes from God alone (Job 12:16). Proverbs 2:7 says God 'layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous.' This is wisdom as a treasure โ€” stored, guarded, and dispensed by God to those who fear Him.
