Confidentiality Commitment

What You Share Stays Here

Confidentiality is not a preference — it is a requirement. Every man in this group makes the same commitment.

The Commitment

Our Pledge to One Another

Men will not share what they need to share unless they trust the room. Trust requires commitment. This is ours.

The Freedom Group Confidentiality Standard

Everything shared within the Freedom Group — confessions, struggles, failures, histories, names, and details — is strictly confidential. It does not leave the room. Period.

This applies to the facilitator as well as every participant. No exceptions are made for spouses, pastors, accountability partners outside the group, or anyone else — unless the man who shared explicitly releases that information himself.

Breaking confidentiality is grounds for immediate removal from the group.

Principles

What Confidentiality Means in Practice

What's said here

What's Said Here Stays Here

You may not share another man's name, story, struggle, or details with anyone outside the group — not your spouse, not your pastor, not your accountability partner who isn't in the group.

Facilitator

The Facilitator Is Bound by the Same Standard

The group leader does not report to the church, the covering pastor, or anyone else what individual men have shared. The pastoral covering is of the program, not the content of confessions.

Your story

Your Story Is Yours

You own your own story. You may share what you have shared — or even identify yourself as a member of the group — at your own discretion. You may not make that decision for other men.

Exceptions

Legal Exceptions

If a man shares information indicating imminent danger to himself or another person, the facilitator is obligated to act. This is the only exception to confidentiality, and it follows standard duty-to-warn protocols.

Violation

Violations Are Serious

A breach of confidentiality damages the group and the individual. If a violation occurs, the facilitator will address it directly. Repeated or severe violations result in removal from the group with no exceptions.

Formal Agreement

Confidentiality Agreement

Every participant signs a written confidentiality agreement before the group begins. The agreement is countersigned by the facilitator. A copy is retained by both parties.
